I’m going to truly miss you Jon, you got me in out of various scrapes. I was lucky to have met you and your loving family. I miss that karate chop dance you did and your cheeky laugh. You will forever be in my thoughts….. 🫶🏼

Such a legend, I hadn’t seen Jon for around 15 years after losing touch but I have so many fond memories of him, mainly when we were at school together at Eastwood High School Sixth Form.

I remember our cleaning job we did when we about 17 years old in the offices down Victoria Avenue, doing the bare minimum whilst having a laugh.

I remember Jon, and our pal Saleem going to Hip Hop and R&B nights together at Saks Undeground and at Shrimpers at Roots Hall. Then driving us in my fiesta to London to go to a club, surprised we made it! 😂

Jon was always fun to be around and such a character. I am sure that he will be missed dearly.

Afterglow:

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Jon was always friendly with a ‘hello, long time no see, what you been up to’ whenever I saw him. He was larger than life with a joke and a smile, you always knew he was in the room and family came first. He will be so missed ❤️

I remember Jon (having met him already through college) turning up at a my kickboxing class in Hamlet court Road around 2001/2002. Larger than life, not bothered that he didn’t know anyone but me. We were all stretching, some farted … and he said out loud ‘cath! was that you?!’ I was so embarrassed! And side note it wasn’t .. it was him. This memory makes me smile a lot ❤️

I remember him showing me the Atari games console with the joy stick, it was the first games console I had seen and letting me mess about with the piano at your mum's house when I was about 7/8 years old

In Memory of a Dear Brother-in-Law

When shadows fall and the light feels far,
We hold to the song that you carried in your heart.
At forty-seven, you left us too soon,
But your fun-loving spirit still glows like the moon.

You'll Never Walk Alone, the Kop softly sings,
A warm Liverpool hymn that forever rings.
Through Anfield’s embrace, your love shone so bright,
A true Red, our brother, our joy and our light.

With every cheer, you stood tall with the crowd,
Your laughter and kindness made us all proud.
A brother-in-law, yet a brother so dear,
Your warmth and your smile, we’ll always hold near.

Though the game’s final whistle has called you away,
Your love lives on in the red of each day.
With scarves held aloft, under heaven’s soft glow,
We feel you beside us, wherever we go.

So walk on, sweet brother, in peace and in grace,
Your spirit’s at home in that sacred place.
You'll Never Walk Alone, the angels now hum,
Forever our Jon, with the love you’ve become.

Some of my fondest memories of you Jon, was us watching football together in our respective shirts of Liverpool vs Chelsea and England vs N. Ireland.
I look forward to doing that again with you someday.

The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
