In loving memory of Ron Hollingdale who sadly passed away on 1st June 2025, age 84
Ron is very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He was a family man who loved helping his daughters and grandkids with any DIY project they could find for him, never one to have a lazy day on the sofa! A lifelong Spurs fan, he hung on until they finally won a cup only last month after a long wait! He was in insurance all his working life and made sure his family were sensible and secure with their finances. He made sure we all had pensions started by our mid 20’s!!
He played squash for many years until he decided he wasn’t going to be able to compete at the level he was used to….age setting in!
Allotment life loomed and he became a runner bean expert alongside his son in law Adam.

He spent the last 5 years on dialysis for Chronic Kidney Disease. He also developed Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia which robbed him of his language abilities making everyday communication more and more difficult towards the end.

The funeral will be held at Thames View Crematorium, Gravesnd, DA12 3JH on Tuesday 24th June at 3pm.
We hope you can join us for a drink afterwards to remember Ron with us at The Cricketer’s Inn, Wrotham Road, Meopham DA13 0QA

I have known Ron since we were young lads in the East End of London along with Dave Coulson and his brother Barry.

Chris and I remember fondly the many good evenings we all spent together with our then girlfriends in the Lady Eleanor pub in Bow.

Ron had a brilliant mind and could always finish the crossword in the Times or Telegraph, often winning prizes.

We are greatly saddened by his passing and although we have not seen him for some time we will miss him.
