After a very long illness, bravely borne, Richard slipped away on May 11th 2025 at home. A much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and friend to many. Funeral Service at St. Peter’s Church, Westleton, on Wednesday 18th June at 11.30am. What a beautiful send off for Richard. Such a kind, gentle and funny man. I have such fond childhood memories for time spent with the Newnham family. The post-A level trip to Herefordshire was a highlight.

A wonderful friend who I had known since the mid 1960s. Our friendship was highlighted by a wonderful holiday shared with Richard and 7 other friends sailing around the islands of Malta and Gozo in 1967. My thoughts are with Rosemary and her family at this time.
