The first time I met Dorothy or as I always called her “Doe”, 38 years ago through the friendship of our beautiful daughters Donna and Jenny. What can I say about this beautiful elegant lady. Since knowing Doe, she has enriched all our lives. She was, and still is, to me one of the loveliest people you could know. Doe was so kind and caring and she would help anyone; the lovely memories of the fantastic holidays we shared, I will never forget. We loved our Disney holidays especially. During those times Doe would tell me about her life; she was a strong and determined lady who cared for her family and in-law throughout her younger years, and she did it with such love and compassion. Doe always used to talk about her wonderful job in the Civil Service. She was an amazing organiser and she would tell me of the times she met Queen Elizabeth on a number of occasions. One particular story she told, was when the Queen was due to visit the building. Doe realised that the flag was a little worse for wear so she took it home and with the help of her beloved Les, they mended and washed it and took it back the next day! Our Doe saved the day! I am sure the Queen noticed how beautiful the flag looked.

Doe was and will always be my very special friend. I will miss you Doe so much. Enjoy being back with your loved ones who have passed before you, your lovely Mum and Dad, Les and David. You will never be forgotten Doe and will always be in my heart. A true friend and lady.

Love you Doe
