In loving memory of Geoffrey “Geoff” Garbett who sadly passed away on 4th May 2025 in Ipswich Hospital at the age of 94.
He was born in Greenwich, London and schooled in London, Dumfries in Scotland and Kidderminster in the West Midlands. After leaving school he joined the RAF where he proudly served for 28 years, travelling the world in doing so. He eventually settled his family in Ipswich in 1971 where he spent the rest of his life.
He is survived by his sons Nigel and Neil and grandsons Benjamin and Elliott. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2019 and all of his eight siblings, Joe, Bern, Den,Dick, Henry, Rose, Irene and Eileen.
A celebration of Geoff’s life will take place at Seven Hills Crematorium, Felixstowe Rd, Ipswich, IP10 0FG on Friday June 6th at 3pm followed by a reception at Rushmere Golf Club, Ipswich, IP4 5QQ
The family requests donations to be made to the Royal Air Forces Association in lieu of flowers.

Fond memories as a boy when Uncle Geoff visited my mum (sister Rene) and dad on leave. Especially when he arrived on his AJS!

In memory of a lovely dad and grandad who had a memorable career in the RAF, making life long friends and working in countries all over the world. The donation is also in gratitude and thanks to the Royal Air Force Association who not only provided the support of his RAF befriender during dad’s later life but also after his passing away for his final farewell.
