Elsie Doris Wood (6 Feb 1930 - 3 May 2025)

In loving memory of Elsie Doris Wood who sadly passed away on 3rd May 2025.

Elsie was born in Islington, London in 1930. She was the third of six children.
Her education was cut short, when war broke out and she was evacuated to the country.
In 1950 she met Dad and they were married in 1951. They had three children.
She spent most of her life living in London. In later years they moved to the Medway, where they spent their remaining years.

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
