In loving memory of Dr Kevin Jerome Zilkha who sadly passed away on 26th April 2025.

Jane Dawson wrote

I know my mother Rosemary would wish to send her sincere condolences to Dr Kevin Zilkha’s family. My father John Dawson (RIP 1999) was a colleague and good friend of Kevin’s at King’s College Hospital and my parents were friendly with both Kevin and Judy. News of your father’s passing was given to me by another KCH colleague’s wife; I will let my mother Rosemary know, when I next see her in her care home.
Caroline - if you are happy to message me privately I would like to make contact with Lindsay McCabe who you mention. Thinking of you and your siblings.

Dr Zilkha, my neurologist and friend from 1986 and a venus malformation of left temporal lobe. Always aligned, like our coincidence of randomly meeting in Gatwick, then years later Kevin calling me from Panama Canal, just as I was visiting Suez Canal.
Reunited with Judy and those who went before.
Watching over family now and there when needed for those who matter 🙏🙏🙏

  • Thank you also for my extra innings after the phone call almost 3 years ago, when I woke from 2 week coma in Royal Stoke Hospital, for you to stop doctors and nurses making an injection and saying that patient had saved their own life by calling you. 🙏🙏🙏

Dr Zilkha first saw me in 1975 before MRI scans and diagnosed my brain tumour. His brilliancwm along with the surgeon ( Mr Mccabe) no doubt saved my life. I has another tumour and a follow up shunt a few years later. I will be forever grateful to him and the team and have lived a full life( just turned 60) with 3 beautiful kids. His undoubted skill and great personality will stay with me forever and although he lived to a great age will never be forgotten. RIP

  • Dear Adam Thankyou for coming to my father’s service. It would have meant a lot to him that you were there and well and have three beautiful children. I am so sorry that I didn’t get to say hello and thank you for coming. My son, Jonty, mentioned that he had met you, along with my brother Jonathan. Lyndsay McCabe, one of Jeffrey McCabes children was also at the funeral, and I have just messaged her to let her know that ie that you were there. She has just messaged me back to say it was lovely to know you were there. Mr McCabe was also the loveliest man and was a great surgeon and friend to us all. Thank you once again. My father’s patients were everything to him. KR Caroline
