Malcolm Stenhouse donated £50 in memory of Margaret

“If you didn’t grow up with a Scottish granny you missed out on something special.”
The opening line to Andrew’s wonderful eulogy to my Aunt Margaret yesterday.
My mum’s big sister was my last connection to the Greatest Generation that gave me everything I have today.
I remember fantastic summers in Slade Green as a child and nothing but love and support as an adult. When my kids were born Aunt Margaret became Granny Margaret and assumed even greater status.
Yesterday was an emotional day. To see her extended family (what the vicar described as “quite a gang”) celebrate her 94 years was uplifting . They are indeed quite a gang and I am proud to be a member of that gang.
Rest in peace Granny Margaret… In the end the love you took was more than equal to the love you made.
