Barry began his career in Birmingham City Police in 1951. In 1968 he went to Staffordshire as Assistant Chief Constable. In 1974-1982 he was Chief Constable of Kent. 1982-1987 Commandant of The Police College in Bramshill.
His first wife was Marguerite who passed away in 2009.
He is remembered with love by his 2nd wife Gail, daughter Sarah, son Goff and his wife Sam, and their sons Godfrey and Mitchell and everyone who knew him.
Funeral service to be held at St. Mary The Virgin Church, Rolvenden, on Tuesday 29th April 2025 at 1:30pm.
