My condolences to all the family, I have many happy memories of dear Doris, we had lots of fun and laughs over the years, especially at scrabble nights with my nan and grandad. Rest in peace dear Doris xxx

Doris and I went back a long way, since before she was working in Headquarters and I was working in Swale. We were both friends with Daphne Scarr, the SPO in Swale at the time and attended her funeral in the Cotswolds together. I will miss Doris, as will many others, especially at our retired staff events. My condolences to Doris' family.

For Nanny a little poem I have written.
In Loving Memory – 24th March 2025
The world grew quiet on that March day,
When you, dear Nanny, were called away.
A heart so warm, a soul so bright,
Slipped gently into endless light.
You taught us love in quiet ways,
With tender care and steady grace.
Your laugh still echoes in the air,
Your kindness lingers everywhere.
The chair you sat in, still and bare,
Holds whispered stories, love, and care.
And though you’re gone from Earthly view,
The best of us remains in you.
We miss your smile, your guiding hand,
The way you’d always understand.
But now we hold you in our hearts,
Where not even death can pull apart.
So rest now, Nanny, your journey’s done,
Beneath the stars, beneath the sun.
We’ll carry on, but not alone
