Everyone who knew Dean well can agree that he was the funniest man in every room.
His loss will be greatly recognised by all of us as no one will be able to replace the laughter that emanated around him.
58 years old was way too young for Dean and he had so much planned, from travelling the Atlantic highway in a new campervan, to becoming a dog dad.
As his daughter, I understand the enormous hole this will leave in the hearts of many of us.
I encourage everyone to try to see the world as he did, embracing every opportunity for laughter and adventure.
I am sure everyone is very grateful for the impact Dean had on us all, and I now kindly ask for this gratitude to be shown to my dad through donations to the British Heart Foundation and Stroke Association.
Dean lived with heart failure since the late 90s and has endured 2 open heart surgeries. Eventually, he suffered from a large brain bleed which took him from us. I understand that if he survived a stroke of this size, he would need extensive rehabilitation, which is funded partially by the Stroke Association.

In loving memory of our funny, lovely Dean Blainey.

Well, it's been a few days since Dean's Day. And i just want to say on behalf of my mum, sister & brother & all the family, how very proud that so many of Dean's famiky & friends came to send my little brother on his final journey. He was dearly loved by so many. Everyone had a cherished tale to tell of such a wonderful, funny, lovable man. My dimple twin ( i have the left dimple & Deano had the right).
Janet & Grace absolutely did Dean proud. The service was perfect. A celebration of his life, meeting Janet, travelling together, becoming a brilliant Dad, continuing our Dad's roofing company, being a loving son & a great brother to us & so much more.
The stories, of which there were many, the music was spot on, Grace & her heartfelt reading. Everything perfect. As painful as it was saying goodbye, this was a tribute to Dean and that is thanks to our Janet & Grace whom worked so hard to make it just as Dean would have wanted.
Dean hated doom & gloom so he would have appreciated how hard it was for his girls to make it 'joyous' as possible.
A huge amount of money was also raised in Dean's name. Thank you to everyone who donated.
Janet, thank you for coming into our lives all them years ago, becoming family, giving us the beautiful Grace & making Dean so happy.
Love you always & forever ♥️

Morning friends and family of our lovely Dean,

words cannot describe how thankful Grace and I are for the fantastic turn out yesterday, for all the generous contributions and kind messages. He would be so proud of how many people came to pay their respects and grateful to everyone who helped make his day as perfect as possible. I'm sure he would be very proud that we finished the day properly and ended up in the Winnie!
We are astounded at how much money has been donated on Dean's behalf online, and at the £250 donated to the collection box at the service, all money is going to brilliant causes.
Our Deano will be remembered forever and will continue to be loved by us all.
Think of him whenever you laugh🩷
all our thanks,

Janet and Grace

  • Lovely words Janet And yes it kind of seemed fitting that we wound up in the Winston but I have to say the Gun is a lovely venue. Dean would have been so proud of his girls yesterday

  • Janet & Grace, Wonderful words, you are both quite amazing and so strong. Thank you for sharing the celebration of Deano’s life with us, it was the perfect way to remember and say goodbye. I’ve never been to a service that made me smile quite so often. A perfect way to remember a good man. Mark.

Deano, you were larger than life, no wonder you loved the stars, the world was always too small for such a huge personality. Be at peace my friend.
