In loving memory of Simon Whiting who sadly passed away on 24th February 2025. He had a wonderful sense of humour that kept us all laughing. Simon was always to be seen with a faithful rough collie in tow although his great passion was always motor racing and classic cars especially Alfa Romeos and Jaguars. Simon had a tremendous general knowledge, not only of cars but a great many subjects, he would often amaze us with his facts and comments about film and music. He will be greatly missed and remembered very fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Love and blessings to all who loved Simon and especially to Fiona, Joanna and to Alice. I am sorry I won't be able to be there for his funeral.
I knew Simon best as a boy, when I regularly visited his family in Richmond. His father, my Uncle Richard, was teaching me to drive on his beloved Jaguar. It was already clear that Simon too was wild about great cars.

My favourite memory of Simon is from Alice & Simon’s wedding at Manorbier Castle in Wales. The look of pure love in his eyes for Alice when she appeared looking like a Hollywood Movie Star was magical. He had such an incredible knowledge of classic cars, always full of interesting information knowledge and fascinating experiences. Alice’s total devotion to him over the years has been inspirational. Love goes far beyond our earthly lives. I know he will be waiting for you in the starry heavens because love conquers all. With all my heartfelt love and condolences to you at this challenging and heartbreaking time.
