I remember Mr Marshall when I was a pupil at Normanton Junior School in the early 1950's
Mr Marshall loved his cane and was a very strict but fair teacher. Being a girl we did not get the cane but I remember the boys leant respect and how to behave. I am 82 and live in Sydney Australia but I remember my years with Mr Marshall at Normanton Junior School which is now long gone.

  • I was only under the clock once. :-) Everyone puts two I, I spend my life saying one I. There are about 80 comments on the Firs group, he was such a well liked teacher.

Condolences to his family.o
I have often thought about Mr Marshall and have always had the highest respect for him.
I remember when he started at Firs Estate as Deputy Headteacher in the 60's he scared everyone to begin with. I have always said that is where we were taught the meaning of respect!
R.I.P. Sir
