Mum and Dad's wedding day in 1960
In loving memory of Hilda Mary Freer (nee Daniel) who sadly passed away on 18th February 2025
Hilda grew up on a Farm in Kexby before her parents moved to a bungalow on the Hull Road just outside Dunnington.
Hilda's siblings have passed but she had a number of surviving nephews and nieces (too many to mention here).
She married husband Bryan in March 1960 with a wedding reception at the De Grey Rooms in York. Richard was born 5 years later and Christopher a further 7 years later. Richard married Helen in 1988 and they have two daughters, Hannah and Sarah. Christopher married Laura in 2003 and they also have two daughters Emma and Megan. Bryan sadly passed away in 2014.Hilda has surviving sister-in-laws Kath, Brenda brother-in-law Peter and respective nephews and nieces
Hilda held various Secretarial positions working at Raylors, Miss Royle Recruitment, Manor Woodworking, Tang Hall school and Derwent school respectively. She had a very caring nature, a joy of life and was extremely proud of her granddaughters.
Hilda had a wide circle of friends and with Bryan also had lifelong friends where they enjoyed many happy times together. Including holidays abroad and parties at one another's homes.
Unfortunately towards the end of her life Hilda went into residential care at Connaught Court. She was very well cared for all through her time there, actively participating in sing alongs and golden oldies tunes until her dementia condition worsened. A huge thank you to the care staff.
She will be greatly missed.
