Joanne Cattermole (29 Dec 1975 - 15 Feb 2025)

I've just heard this very sad news. Just the other day I was telling my partner about how excited my brother and I would be when we were told Joanne was going to be coming over to babysit us, as she would always bring her GameBoy over and let us stay up late playing it. I would have only been about 8 or 9 years old, so that was about 30 years ago now. Such a simple, yet still a fond memory after all these years. Rest in Peace Joanne x

I worked with Jo for many years at the wider east Kent college. I was always struck by how much she cared about the young people who came through the doors, and how supportive and diligent she was towards both them and her friends and colleagues. If Jo was advocating for a student then she would not give up on them. I am very sorry to hear of her passing and send my condolences and best wishes to her family and friends.

We started out as colleagues, and ended up being friends. Jo, you are missed in so many different ways xxxx

Jo was a wonderful person friend and partner to Steve you really did make a difference and him happy you was a fantastic step mother to our children and auntie figure to my other children and I thank you so much for all the love you showed them Jo from day one you became my fiend we had some crazy chats and laughs sleep well your gonna be missed so very much xxxx
