Our very much beloved mother Anne Moore died on 15 January 2025 after a short illness. She was 68. She is survived by her three children Laura, Nathan and David and her 4 grandchildren Caidon, Logan, Kittie-Jane and Thea.
Anne was a devoted Mum and friend, passionate animal lover and travel enthusiast. She was known for her kindness, generosity and unwavering love of the band Queen! She did not suffer fools gladly, and was also known for her (sometimes brutal) honesty! Anne retired from her job at the local government in 2018 and devoted her time to her family, friends and dogs, particularly enjoying showing her beloved dachshunds and sitting on several breed club committees and councils. After the passing of her beloved husband Chris in 2010, Anne moved next door to Laura and Nathan and continued to be the best Mum her children could ask for, along with a wonderful and supportive sister to her beloved sister Sharon. She was the absolute heart and soul of our family, and we are devastated by her passing. She will be deeply and forever missed.
Anne’s funeral will be held at Bretby Crematorium - Cedar Chapel, Geary Lane, Burton-on-Trent, DE15 0QE on Thursday 20 February 2025 at 11:15am, followed by a celebration of her life at Keepers Cottage Lodge, Bretby Park Bretby, Burton-on-Trent, DE15 0QG. There will a buffet with tea and coffee served, however please note that Keepers Cottage Lodge operates a cash bar only for all other refreshments.

Anne was known for her love of bright colours and sparkly outfits, and made it known to her family and close friends that she wanted colour and sparkles at her funeral, so please don’t feel you have to wear black – the brighter, the better!
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Dachshund Health UK or The Donkey Sanctuary can be made in Anne’s name.
We would like to convey our thanks to everyone for donating in memory of Anne to aid us in our work at The Donkey Sanctuary. We hope it will bring some comfort that the memory of Anne will live on through these donations. This support today helps us to look after donkeys in our care at sanctuaries across the UK and Europe and reach out to donkeys in desperate need around the world. Anne was a lovely lady who I have had the pleasure of knowing for over 20 years. She has been taken far too soon as she had so many plans.
It was a long journey to find a dog breeder of Anne’s calibre and once found I stuck with her having 3 of Anne’s beautiful puppies during the last 11 years, the last being collected only 2 weeks prior to Anne’s passing. I will never forget Anne and her kindness.
I absolutely loved your Mum,she was a very good friend& I've lost count at the laughs we had,often at the expense of others!
