In loving memory of our beautiful Sarah Jane Leggett who sadly passed away on December 12th 2015 aged 33.

Sarah was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in April 2015 and started chemotherapy almost immediately. We then found out a few weeks later that the cancer had spread to her liver. This was not treatable but Sarah continued to have chemotherapy in the hope that it would slow the spread of the cancer. Soon after this Sarah had another appointment and found that the cancer had continued to spread and had spread to her bones.

The outlook for Sarah was very misty at this point. We were told that it could be years before anything happened. This time frame began to get shorter and shorter. We were hit with the news that it could be up to 12 months. This was devastating to us all. Everything was happening so quickly. In Early November we were told the very sad news that Sarah had only a couple of weeks left with us.
Sarah became very poorly around the late part of November and ended up at the QA hospital in Portsmouth. She was in agonising pain. The hospital did their best but could not get the pain under control.
Sarah was transferred to the Rowans Hospice on the 1st December 2015. She would be more comfortable there because it was more like home and was friendlier for her little boys. Sarah has three sons. Logan who is 4 years old. Kaleb who is 3 years old and Isaac who is 11 months old and soon to be one.

During her stay at the Rowans Hospice Sarah's condition sadly deteriorated. She became less mobile and more sleepy. Her pain was manageable but she was still uncomfortable. She had so many visitors that she was nicknamed "the birthday girl" and that's how everyone referred to her. Her birthday was on December 3rd.
During her second week Sarah's speech began to become slurred and unrecognisable which was frustrating for her, but painful for us. Her swallow reflex also became lost which meant she could not safely eat or drink. By Friday 11th December she was in a semi coma state.

On Saturday afternoon Sarah's condition became the worst it has ever been. Her breathing became very laboured. At 2:00pm with all her family around her and her favourite music playing she slipped into the arms of the angels.

She passed peacefully and is now at rest. No more pain. We miss her every second and our hearts ache to see her smile again.
