I remember vividly the day Alan waltzed into my office with Mary, for our very first meeting to discuss having a patient and staff choir. Both he and Mary were so passionate about their idea there was no chance I was going to say no and our first choir session was arranged for 1 month later.
Every Friday Alan would come with Mary and light up the room with his love of life and music. The choir touched so many people, patients and staff alike and I loved hearing the songs wafting down the corridor into the waiting room.
Thank you Alan for bringing so much joy to so many people. You will be sadly missed and will forever hold a special place in my heart.
