So many happy memories of John over the years. Always solid and dependable, he was a great brother-in-law. We had Holidays together with Sue and my husband Barry, when our children were younger, and then lots of visits to our home in Syresham, Northants for catch ups over the years. He will be sadly missed.

Very sorry to hear about the sad news about John and my condences to family. He was a great leader, colleague and mentor to me and many others in South East London Army Cadets and he had a great sense of humour.

John was a great mentor to me and others when we joined the ACF. His enthusiasm and dedication to his cadets was an example to all. Condolences to all his family.

I was deeply sadden on hearing the news that John had passed. My sincerest and heart felt condolences to his family and friends. Major Rayment, as I knew him, was an incredible gentlemen and leader. He had the ability to command respect without speaking.

As one of his cadets & junior instructors I will always hold dear the time, energy, laughter and above all his unique way of verbally gripping you for messing up , done through a smile and then telling you to foxtrot Oscar...Lol!

He was and will always be a true legend, one of a kind. He was instrumental in laying the foundations & tradition for excellence for 7 Company ACF, those values are to this day held true throughout the modern ACF.

To John's family , I pray you will find the strength to pull together during this time, may peace find your home once again.

Major Rayment, Sir, I salute you , I salute your life and will always remain thankful and humbled by your guidance ,leadership and humor.

Thank you for all that you have done for me and so many young people over the years.

Never to be replaced, never to be forgotten."Vita, non memoria abitus". May your soul rest in everlasting peace and rise in glory!

Had the great pleasure of meeting and working with John for 6 years, at New Scotland Yard, he was a great guy, and enjoyed exchanging many stories of our time in the Police Service, he was also a very funny man, enjoying a joke, or two. Met up with him a few times after we retired enjoying a drink in the British Legion in Hayes. I was so saddened to hear of his passing, and send my sincere condolences to Sue and his daughters.
