As a craft apprentice with the South Wales Electricity Board in the 1960’s, I was very fortunate to have spent some time training with Lionel. He taught me that there was only one way to carry out electrical works, and that was to technical and aesthetic perfection, anything else was simply not acceptable. Those formative years stood me in good stead through my subsequent working life in the electricity supply industry. So sad to hear you have passed away; thank you Lionel.
Our sincere condolences to Joan and all family, Martin and Barbara Shelley, Pendine.

  • Having gust read this message I can concur with Martin. I also worked with Lionel and Martin in Tenby and when Lionel became self employed I was an installation inspector with SWEB . His work never required a second visit. My condolences to the family on their loss. Nigel Williams

My father Andrew (David) Narbett was neighbours of Lionel & Joan years at Bath Cottage. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My dad has shared with me so many stories of the things him and Lionel used to get up to, I especially loved the one about the rats crossing over into the attic. He was a true gentleman and a treasure, he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and family.
