I’m sorry to hear of the passing of Jackie. We were very good friends for a number of years and have stayed in touch ever since. I’ve just written her Christmas card and realised I hadn’t heard from her so searched her name.
I’d love to visit and take flowers if anyone can tell me the details

  • Dear Melanie, I'm so sorry you were not aware of Jackie's passing but I'm afraid we did not have her address book. Unfortunately she died alone and refused all offers of help from her friends at the church, although her death was a great shock to everyone. She is buried in Kingston Cemetery but as we are still waiting for probate, no gravestone has yet been ordered. Kind regards Barry Downer

  • Dear Barry, Thank you so much for replying to my message. That sounds very much like the Jackie I knew….. it’s just so sad. I knew Jackie for over 40 years since we both worked together at G.A.Days. When I had my family she took my 2 daughters to girls brigade and Sunday school for many years. I’d really appreciate if you could keep me in the loop if there’s any update on the matter of Jackie’s grave. I’d really like visit her when everything is settled.
