In loving memory of Edward John France (Ed/Eddie) who sadly passed away in the early hours of Monday, 15th April 2024, aged 70.

Ed was larger than life and full of fun. He enjoyed over 50 years of treasured memories together with his loving wife Bev.

A proud and loving dad to Susan and Martin, much loved father-in-law to Kay, adoring grandad to Charlotte and Abigail, a dearly loved brother to Sandra and brother-in-law to Graham, much loved uncle to David & Rowena, and Anne & Craig, great uncle to Leyla, Elsie and Florence, and a wonderful friend to many, he will be missed immensely. May he rest in peace.

Ed’s family would like to invite anyone who wishes to pay their respects and celebrate his life to join them for his requiem mass and reception.

Ed will be received into St Aidan’s RC Church on Wednesday 1st May 2024 at 6pm with a private family service.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 2nd May 2024 at 10.30am, followed by a private interment.

Everyone is welcome at Dewsbury District Golf Club for refreshments.

Please do not feel obliged to wear black. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made here for the benefit of The Kirkwood and the Macmillan Cancer Support Fund. Thank you.

It was with great sadness that we heard about Ed's death. He was a fun loving man with a wicked sense of humour. He was a true family man, he often told me how proud he was of Susan and Martin and his love for Bev and Sandra. He was, of course delighted when Charlotte and Abigail arrived Sleep well Ed, you fought hard and you will be missed by many. RIP Ed.

Sending all our love to you guys, Ed was so welcoming, loving, funny, caring and silly- exactly what a Dad should be. He always had a smile and a kind word, and he brought so much laughter to the room. It was an absolute honour to know him, and I know his loss will leave a big Ed shaped hole. Sending huge hugs to you all xxx
