Michelle, We shared this poem together, you said it was beautiful and so true.
How do you do it ? Said the night,
How do you wake up and shine ?
I keep it simple, said light ,
One day at a time.
You did this every day my lovely lady, with courage, humour, kindness and love for everyone around you through your horrible and cruel illness. A wonderful, amazing inspiration to us all.
Your light will never fade it will always be there shinning so brightly forever in our lives.
Love you Angela and family.

Michelle was one of the most inspirational women I have ever had the privilege to meet. Always so positive, always so kind, always had a smile on her face, despite her illness, she was a warrior until the end. I will never ever forget you Michelle and I feel lucky to have known you. Namaste🙏💜

Michelle, thank you for everything first and foremost. Words can’t even describe how amazing you are not just to me but to everyone else. 9 years ago was the first time I met you and since then you and your family have been nothing but welcoming and friendly to me. I’ve got nothing but nice, beautiful memories of you Michelle, all the gatherings, house parties, birthdays, Easter’s, Christmas and weddings you were always so happy, cheerful even if Dylan and Millie did get in your way majority of the time. In Granada when it was 47 degrees we had about 1000 steps to climb and I remember having you on one shoulder helping you get up the stairs. You were so strong and positive and never gave up but at this point nobody knew it was MND which now we know is the most vile, cruelist disease to exist. What it does to a human body is a horrible thing to witness never mind experience it first hand, during all this you always remained so positive and still caring for others which just shows what an amazing, beautiful, caring woman you were and was an absolute pleasure to know you and I hope one day we will meet again. Thank you for everything and I hope one day we will meet again, hope you’re having fun in heaven with everyone! Thank you and love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have been inspired by all the kind messages that people have written about my wonderful wife and best friend, Michelle.
Like all of you, I am suffering great heartbreak for this woman, who was my dear wife for 44 years. I am already finding it difficult to talk about this wonderful woman, whom everyone who knew her loved dearly.
Before I break up, I would like to say a few thanks to the people who helped to care for and look after her over the past two years.
Firstly, to my children, who have helped me get through the nightmare of being Michelle's carer.
Also, Deb and her children, and not forgetting Mark. Without there help, I would not have coped with this dreaded disease, MND.
I would also like to thank all the NHS medical staff and the kind-hearted people from the care companies. Especially in the later days, when poor Michelle was in her worst stages of MND.
Also, Michelle spent a couple of weeks at Kirkwood Hospice.
The care she received there was truly outstanding, and I wish all the good luck and happiness to all the staff that helped me care for my loving wife.
Finally, Helen from George Brooks has been her usual helpful self. Making the dreaded task of arranging the funeral a little easier for us with her controlled humour and smiling face is always a treat to see.
We, as a family, are truly devastated by the loss of such a wonderful wife and truly one of the greatest women I will ever meet.

Michelle,

I hope you are free of all your pain and heartache that you endured. I hope your heart and mind are at peace and your body is healed. I hope you are reunited with all of your loved ones in heaven. I hope you are happy.

Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in my life. Some of my favourite childhood memories are down to you. Times I look back on and smile. Every christmas at your house and the magic created from all of your decorations and the effort you put in to make it special for us all. Easter Sunday at yours doing the egg hunts and having dinner with the family. All of your parties and the times spent at your house, laughing and making memories are times I will cherish and think about when I think of you.

I feel so grateful to have been your niece and to have felt your love. You had a beautiful aura. Your warm positive energy was felt where ever you went. You lit up every room you walked in. Your presence was comforting just like the feeling of being at home.

You had so much love and time for so many people. You didn't want anything from anyone and your happiness came from making others happy. Thank you for everything. Every memory, every smile and laugh that we shared. Thank you for teaching me kindness, how to be strong, how to show gratitude and see the positives in anything.

I hope to see you again, I love you and will miss you always🧡🌻
