In loving memory of Margaret Bartle who sadly passed away on 4th March 2024.

Maggie was born in Beeston Northamptonshire in 1930.
She had four brothers and a sister.
She spent her Childhood in Blackpool and attended Art college in Liverpool and then Manchester.
She Married Peter Bartle and had six Children.
She worked as an art teacher before she had children and afterwards she taught in St Anthony’s Infant School in Forest Gate until her retirement.
She also taught adult literacy in evening classes.
As a child she had nearly drowned in the sea and to face her fear she set up an adult swimming club for adults like herself who had either never learnt to swim or had a fear of drowning.
Mum had Six children, Simon,Paul, Andrew, Moira, Philip and Alan. She had a very open house and our house was always full of friends.
After her retirement she was very active and attended many evening classes. When those classes closed down, mum set up her own. A yoga class run, by herself and her friend Renee.
A History group, meeting weekly at Stratford st, where whoever turned up would travel to places of interest in London, including a walk and lunch somewhere.
She belonged to an art class and ran a scrabble group and went on many holidays with her friends.
She kept busy with creative pursuits all her life and was a great reader.
Mum was a big presence loved by many and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
Leigh-on-sea at 1.30pm on the 4th of April 2024, then Southend Crematorium at 3pm. Reception to be arranged.
