In loving memory of Sue Scott who sadly passed away on 15th January 2024, aged 54 years. Much loved wife, daughter, sister, and auntie she will be greatly missed by all friends and family.

Suzan Omer was born in London and grew up in Leyton where she went to Downsell Road School. When she was 12 Sue moved to Westcliff and after finishing college worked as a receptionist at Borough Plating.

Sue met her husband, Simon, at TOTS nightclub in 1989. They were married for 31 years and loved travelling around the world together.

Sue worked for HMRC for 20 years where she made many lifelong friends. Looking for a new challenge Sue set up Senses Travel, an online travel agency in 2012. It did not matter to Sue that she had no previous experience and took on every challenge with enthusiasm and a big smile. Sue particularly enjoyed networking and meeting new clients. More recently Sue retired from work.

Sue had a passion for music. At quiz nights she was the music queen, loved going to concerts and festivals, and at home had all her own dance moves.

Sue was a keen Southend United fan and with Simon regularly watched the Blues at Roots Hall.

Warm, kind and loving, Sue was always happy and smiling and will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Suzie for you there was no pain,
You were taken far too early with wings to gain.
You and Simon loved to travel,
With backpack, suitcase across the Channel.
Your presence would light up every room,
Your smile and laughter always shone through.
No-one can express how much you are missed,
When it comes to hearts, yours was the biggest.
With a love for music there be doubt,
As I would always find my records left out.
They say all great things comes in a small package,
When we were children your temper was savage.
Though this side was never seen by many,
As we grew older, your heart was a plenty.
We are now left to say goodbye,
In our hearts you will always lie.
For us all, there can be no other,
With an aching heart, take our love. Your brother.

My friend Sue I am in shock still. I have so many memories with you from college days when we would rename Friday as crunchie day because on our long walk home which went quick cause we were too busy talking we would stop and get a crunchie in the garage. You and your mum were my birthing partners for my daughter and I couldn't of ask for more. We would always make up dance routines in your room especially to Madonna. I just have so many memories if you that I will treasure. You were the only friend I ever trusted 150%. I'll never forget our trip to Italy when Italy won the European Cup that year it was like a fiesta on the streets people driving pressing their horn. I rember the night we went to Tots and you met Simon. What a journey of a friendship it was and it was great. You were a true friend. Sleep well Sue and I will never forget you ❤️ your friend Lisa

Everyone at Sound has been so saddened to hear of the loss of lovely Suzan, who we all have very fond memories of and have loved the pleasure of her company at many of our events.

A true Music Quiz wizz indeed, and unforgettably smiley.

Sending the very best wishes to Simon, and Suzan's family.

Sue, I still can't believe you have gone. I have so many lovely memories of you, and have been looking at lots of photos remembering the fun times we all had from parties, birthdays, holidays together, family get togethers and days out. We will all hold those dear in our memories.
Thank you for making my brother so happy, and for being my lovely sister-in-law. You were also a wonderful Auntie to Jonathan and Freya and they have precious memories. Jonathan always enjoyed going to watch Southend United play with you and Simon, so thank you even if he did talk too much and ask so many questions when he was younger!
You were always happy and smiling, and we all miss you very much.

With much love, Claire, Mike, Jonathan and Freya xxxx

I worked with Sue for many years on the FMU back when it was Inland Revenue, she was always a happy friendly lady and we shared many laughs together. I remember Sue and Marion both working the switchboard and helping with the post, I can't believe your gone Sue. Unfortunately I am not able to attend Sue's funeral but my thoughts will be with Simon and Sue's family and friends. xx
