As brother Owen checks out,let the flags out
By silently unpeeling every creased fold.
Send someone to go knocking on each door,
To cover every inch of floor, within reason.
Ensure nobody is missed, everyone gets told
Though Owen has not grown old, my friend,
Has reached the end of his season.

Ask them all to gather in Market Square
One morning. Take up space in the City Ground or a Public Hall.
When the idea of Owen's passing is slowly dawning,
Here, in a revered place somewhere
We should tell each other funny stories,
Belt out unrehearsed songs into the night
In the right tone, or not!

As the chatter of song
Whispers to us that 'Owen has gone'
He has not. For a fact,
Owen will be listening, singing, Standing somewhere at the back,
Not to be forgot...

because every season,
as you know,
does come
and go...

R.I.E.P. Owen, our true brother, our true friend.

  • I can't really remember the date I first met you bro but believe it to be between 1988 and 1991 but I do remember the musical impact you had on me as you would show me drum licks to groove to your composition for the youth choir (chariots of Joy at pilgrim Church). You han many influences on me I remember my first forest game against Derby i had no understanding of the rivalry and stupidly i stood up cheering what i thought was a good play leading to a Derby goal but i remember you becoming somewhat annoyed with asking if im trying to get us both killed. Of course we were at you favourite part of the ground The Trent End. There was a time when I hated going to the hospital to visit anyone including family but I remember breaking that custom to visit you and I remember how excited yiu was to see me since then pledged to always visit you despite your sense of privacy you'd always give me any new number with strict instructions not to share it. Bro thanks for the years of brotherhood especially in supporting the project-US band at gigs and recording ideas. Yiu are already deeply missed 😒 but God be with you bo. Delroy Miller

Ode to Owen Rowe

Soothsayer, I hear you
your tonailty booming advice & unrelenting support
big ups and tings in rhythm
of the ballad of Owen Rowe

the minor bridge instead
leaves a soreness in me.
the silent suffering of life with disordered blood
it's clutch forcing reclusion
but I still hear you singing now

Monday comes, the fall
Taking your final flight
How I hope it was quick and painless?
Did you see the flash of your colourful life?
is it really like the movies?

if it were made up of the memories I have of you
then I'm glad
cos they're all shiny
full of love and music
embellished in your humm
my soul music brother.

departed, but only from the physical realm.

silence for dramatic effect

Your smile embedded in me soul brother,
the pulse of the beat flat lines
but I still hear you singing now
