In loving memory of Anne Rennison, who sadly passed away on 15th November 2023. Born and raised in Edinburgh, Anne made Adlington her home in the early 1970s, bringing her unique Scottish perspective to Lancashire life.

Anne worked in Accounts at Leonard Faircloughs in Adlington for many years, she was a stickler for fairness both in her work and in her personal life.

A cherished member of the village, Anne formed lasting friendships through her work and active participation in Keep Fit and Tap dancing classes, passions she enjoyed for decades. An avid traveler, she embarked on numerous adventures to the USA and Australia.

Anne was a loving and attentive grandmother, attending many football matches come rain or shine.

Her wit and keen observation, coupled with a wonderful sense of humor, made Anne a joy to be around. Her remarkable memory of people and places never failed to surprise. A voracious reader, she also mastered modern tech, allowing her to communicate with family across the globe and engage in far-flung games of Scrabble with her sister and granddaughter.

Anne leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Helen Prescott donated £20 in memory of Anne

Anne was always good company, so kind and such a joy to be around.
She was a great friend to my mum and we will both miss her greatly.
Forever in our thoughts.

Eunice and Helen.

Dearest Anne,

Tomorrow you take your final journey I’d just like to add how blessed I was to have you in my life. All the comments people have made about you are a true testament of how much you were loved by family and your many friends
As everyone knew you loved to read and this quote from Nevil Shute novel comes to mind

It's not the end of the world at all," he said. "It's only the end for us. The world will go on just the same, only we shan't be in it. I dare say it will get along all right without us.

The world will not be the same without you, but you touched the hearts of all you met and certainly brightened the life of many I for one will never forget your Wisdom ,Resilience Kindness and Love … you will remain in my heart always … until we meet again x

It was a privilege to have met and worked with Anne over the last few months. Her sense of humour and quick wit made for fantastic sessions. Anne showed strength and determination through out, especially over the last few weeks.

Forever in my thoughts ❤️

  • Thanks, Faye, It was great seeing you interact with Mum when I visited back in June. She loved your visits and enjoyed the banter, which motivated her to give it her all while doing her exercises. It was also very reassuring knowing that a caring and competent professional was on the "team," looking out for Mum and going above and beyond.
