In loving memory of Geoff Sheldon who sadly passed away on 5th November 2015.

Geoff lived from birth at Sycamore Farm Storth Lane South Normanton until he moved to Manor Farm Shirland in 1974. Geoff went to school at South Street, Hamlet Lane then Fredrick Gents secondary school where he made head boy!
After leaving school at 15 he went to work for Stoppard's butchers as well as working on the family farm, this was until he opened his own farm shop at Manor Farm in October 1980. Geoff started dating Lyn Groom in 1968 they went on to get married on 10th june 1972 .Their daughter Sarah was born in November 1975 followed by son Andrew in January 1979. He ran the farm shop along with running his own farm where he bred sheep, cows and on occasion pigs. He always loved the farm work but another passion was Bakewell cattle market, he rarely missed a week until his illness he'd even attend Monday. Geoff loved socialising in his local pubs where he was a regular right until the end. In recent years he had the pleasure of the birth of his two granddaughters Kelsie and Tierney which he adored and them him. Geoff leaves wife Lyn daughter Sarah her husband David son Andrew and granddaughters Kelsie and Tierney All donations go to mnd to help with the dreadful disease he suffered.

I was a customer of Geoff's at Manor Farm for over twenty years. He was a true gentleman with a wicked sense of humour. A genuine part of the Shirland community. Sorely missed, even now.

After moving to the USA in the mid 70's, I did not get to see Geoff very often but it always was a pleasure to meet him and talk to him as indeed it was and is to his wonderful family. He will be truly missed by all of us but he is now in peace with his family who have passed before him. Herat felt condolences to Lyn (my sister in law) and her family.
