In loving memory of Julian who was a husband then a friend to me. Julian had the heart of gold. He was funny and intelligent. Despite his mental health and other health issues in his last years Julian still bore it all without a complain. He liked life he loved his chase and stock market most. I will miss the long chats and the stock market tips and especially the humour. May you rest in perfect peace my best friend.

I have known Juian since 2004 when he rejoined Dorking Chess Club after a long absence. He had a long history of mental illness and in the last few years kidney failure leading to dialysis. None of that broke his spirit as he continued to approach life with great enthusiam. I frequently provided transport for him and had many discussions and long phone calls with him and it seems strange now that he has passed away.

Julian had a long history of mental illness so I think it appropriate to make a donation to Mind.

Despite his very serious health issues Julian never complained and was always determined to get to the chess club. His phone call on a Thursday night was "has Peter left yet" His determination was admirable. Rest in peace Julian.
