I have three main memories of my lovely cousin John whilst growing up.

Firstly his wicked sense of humour. My mom and his mom would each Christmas wonder how they were so tiddly after having just one weak snowball that John had made (which was heavily spiked with brandy). Secondly, his love for loud rock music that he passed on to Ian and I.

Thirdly, the sporty cars he had when he was young and the way he liked to drive, particularly hand break turning his open top MG to get on the drive. His sense of humour again cropped up when I bought a GTi and he allayed my moms fear of me having a fast car by pointing out that he was sure I would stick to the speed limits and the extra power would help me to get out of trouble!

John will be greatly missed and was taken from us way too soon. Rest in peace, John: our hearts and thoughts are with you, Darren.

We have shared lovely times with John & Darren over recent years. Great memories celebrating at our Wedding, trying to entice John onto the dancefloor - safe to say he was much happier observing with an ale in hand.
Countless amounts of laughs during our weekend meet up in Bristol and most recently introducing our daughter to John & Darren at her Christening.

John really was a gentle giant with the kindest heart, taken way too soon. Our love and thoughts go to Darren x

I have so many happy memories of my big cousin John and will really miss him. Although he was ten years older than me, we had similar tastes in music and ale which we made the most of, particularly in recent years. Sue and I have had some brilliant times with John and Darren, it is so sad that your life together has ended. My last trip out with John was to the Great British Beer Festival in Olympia this August and my lasting memory will be John tutting at me and my brother Andy because we were wearing our flamingo and propellor hats that we had won in a bar game. Rest in Peace John. x

I first met John through my work in 1984
He was the epitome of the gentle giant.
We supported each other through a mutual career low in 96, it helped me get through a difficult time.
Although I lost contact with John and Darren in recent years, I will always remember the fun times we had together , especially with Dell and Ken.
My deepest condolences to Darren I can’t imagine what you are going through.

I’d like to offer my deepest condolences to Darren during this trying time for his loss. The world has lost an Olympic grade shopper. He introduced me to “the tree” in the 90s and we’ve never looked back🤗🤗❤️❤️. He’ll be truly missed.
