Our dear Mum passed away on 18th September 2023. Proud Mum to Ivan and Lisa and even prouder Nanny to Jordan, Megan, Jake, Karis and Evie. The kindest, most considerate person you could ever meet.

She never turned down the opportunity to spend time with her family, whether it was spectating at various sporting or other events the grandchildren were participating in or just 'sitting'. We recently received a card from dear Aless, which sums up Mum/ Nan perfectly;

'It always amazed me that in each of her stories, there was always a twinkle in her eye and fondness in her voice. Whether sharing anecdotes of muddy floors or scaffolding accidents, her stories were a clear testament to the richness she found in the 'mundane' moments she shared with each of you. "I just love spending time with you, that's all!" she would tell me, always followed by a familiar cheeky grin. How fortunate to have had a Mum/ Nan who found such joy and contentment in simply being in your company. Her face would say it all in moments when everyone was sat having a giggle and sharing a story: pure delight. It has always been so clear the deep love she had for you all.'

Mum's funeral will be held at 3.00 pm on Friday 6th October at Test Valley Crematorium. Following the service we will continue to celebrate Mum's life with drinks and afternoon tea at Kimbridge Barn, Kimbridge, Romsey, SO51 6AB.

No flowers please. However, if you would like to make a contribution the family are hoping to remember Mum in an individual way, perhaps by purchasing a bench or planting a tree. To donate, please visit the JustGiving Fundraising Page via the link on this page.

Mum/ Nan was always a natty dresser and was infamous for her bold colour choices and particularly her necklace and shoe collection. To celebrate we would ask you to dress in something you are comfortable in but with colour if possible.

Chris and I wish to say what a lovely lovely lady our dear Jean was. We loved having a chat with her and a good laugh.
She always brought such warmth with her and her precious smile wherever she went. The world has lost some of its shine.
With all our love
Chris & Carrie xx

We are so far away, in Sydney Australia, and yet Aunt Jean has always been in our heart and memories of our visit when we last came to England visiting, 2019. Aunt Jean was never put out by coming to see us at Aunt Thelma’s and always eager to take us out to wherever. Her smiling face filled me with joy as I always looked forward to seeing her too. We made some great memories which will be always etched in my heart.
I’m just taken back with the sad news of her passing.
Aunt Jean, May you rest in God’s love always, May you now and forever find peace in heaven. You will be sadly missed, the void you leave is unmeasurable.
May all the family especially Ivan and Lisa find solace in knowing that aunt Jean is now in a happier place and no longer enduring the trials of life’s suffering. Always in our hearts Tom and Mary.
Sending lots of love to Ivan and the rest of the family.

Much loved Nanny Jean 💞 It’s wonderful to be loved by your family, but a rare gift when an incredible woman comes into your life and chooses to love you all and become family. We are so blessed to have known you ❤️
