I was so sad to hear that John had passed away, we have been friends since the early 1970s along with David Housley the three of us used to fly model aircraft together among other things, John was such a good friend, and I will miss him.

In fond rememberance of a dear friend . I came to know John when we were in school in Barry. We had mutual interest in building and flying model aircraft and later in music. The band we helped to form was never going to worry the likes of the Who or Pink Floyd but John’s calmness and focus helped to offset the teenage egos we had around us. We both studied engineering at Glamorgan Polytechnic but our respective careers took us away from South Wales and we lost touch for a time. Later John and Ann visited us in Sussex and we played some of the old tunes together, though John had maintained his musical skills much better than I had.

Dear John, he will be so missed by all of us. He was a wonderful, kind and caring father, grandfather and friend to us all. His huge smile, warm laugh and enthusiasm for so many things in life will be remembered and live on in our memories. He was the most caring, kind and patient grandfather to our two boys, willing to spend hours playing with them or reading with them. They miss him terribly. John, you will always be in our thoughts and memories. Wishing you peace now - until we meet again. Warwick, Helen, Humphrey and Bert x
