I knew David from when I was a small child grew up the best of friends with his son Richard, Although I had sadly not seen David for sometime I kept in touch with him on Facebook and used to really enjoy his manner and humour and adventures, I know everyone says this but David really was a one off. Hope you are flying high on your last journey Dave and reunited with your lovely wife Pauline. Rest in peace 💙

I remember David from when I used to call round to go out with his son Richard, my best mate. He would always answer the door with a smile and be welcoming. He loved his garden which I remember was immaculate as was his pond. When I was a baker I took hot cross buns round few times, his face lit up I remember. My last memory is when he came to my wedding reception with his lovely wife briefly. Richard told me of his travels after Pauline’s passing sadly. He really enjoyed his Time visiting place up and down the country. Bless you David.

May your well earned bus pass help you travel in heaven. Sleep tight driver 💙

I met David via Facebook and then face to face at my Mum funeral Jean Birchall in January. It was a pleasure to meet David who was such a lovely man and had quite a few stories to tell about the family and things you all got up to. RIP David you will be so very sadly missed like my Mum & Dad and many others but I hope you are up there with my Mum & Dad, uncle Leslie, Tom and a few others having a blast! ❤️

We only knew Dave for about 5yrs but in that time we became good friends and we will him laughing and joking on our club trips

I only met Dave twice. Once on the river medway where he spent a couple of hours telling me all about his adventures. He was a lovely gentleman and so kind. I hope I live life to the full like he did. RIP.
