Monique Andrée Occhini (9 Jan 1937 - 28 Jul 2023)

In loving memory of Monique Andrée Occhini who sadly passed away on 28th July 2023, at the age of 86 years old.

She was born on the 9th January 1937 in Livry-Gargan, a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, France. She was the beloved daughter of Alfred Louis Antoine Petit (1901-1967) and Madeleine Solange Petit (ne Seguin: 1901-1975) and sister to Maurice Clement Gaston Petit (1925-1992).

She was also the beloved wife of Florio Santi Oliviero Occhini (1931-2017), celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in March 2017. She is survived by her sons Mauro Christian Occhini (born 1957), Daniel Aldo Occhini (born 1960) and Fabrice Jean-Pierre Occhini (born 1965), her daughter in laws, Sharon Occhini (born 1959) and Carmel Occhini (born 1972), as well as her grand children Rhiannon Madeleine Occhini (born 1996), Mickayla Eloise Occhini (born 1997), Alexander William Occhini (born 2001) and Nicole Ruth Andrée Occhini (2006).

Having spent her younger years in occupied France during WW2 (where she was oblivious to her role as a resitance courier), she then completed her education acheiving the International Baccalauriate in France (the equivilent of 'A Levels'), and then came to the UK to work as a student nurse in Bexley Hospital (where she met her husband to be, Florio) and stayed working in the medical profession acheiving registrations for both RMN and RGN, before leaving and setting up a business as a florist in Welling. After several years circumstances changed and she decided to return to work within the NHS for the last 20 years of her working life.

She then enjoyed over 15 years retirement with Florio, travelling frequently abroad and in the UK, attending Masonic Ladies nights and holding many dinnerparties for friends and family, before he passed at the end of 2017.
