In loving memory of our father, Bill Shenton who sadly passed away on 5th August 2023 aged 87 years. Reunited with his beloved wife Anne. Loved and missed by his family and friends.

We ask for family flowers only. If you would like to make a donation we have chosen St Catherine's Hospice. This was a charity close to Dad's heart as St Catherine's Hospice provided care for Mum in her last few months. We would love you to join with us to celebrate Bill's life on the 11th September. Anthony, Gail, Paul, Jo, Graham and all of his grandchildren xxx

It has been brilliant getting to know Bill over the last 4 or 5 years through BSL classes and breakfasts. The coffee shops of Surrey will feel the loss as he knew all the pretty waitresses names and they certainly knew him. He had the wonderful ability to make up new signs that were not part of the BSL diction but eventually we all knew them. And he was such a snappy dresser. You will be missed Bill - give them hell.

It has been a privilege getting to know Bill over the last 6 years or so. I soon discovered his wonderful talent for building connections and friendships wherever he went. We spent many hours chatting over coffee about anything and everything. Whilst he shared tales from his life, he also showed genuine interest in mine. Bill was always ready to lend an ear, offer encouragement and give an honest opinion! He made me laugh – often. I miss him already as I am sure many do.
Best wishes to his family at this sad time.

As Bill’s youngest grandchild I will miss him very much. My favourite memory of him is from when I came to stay for a week. It was a hot summer and I got a sick with a fever. He put me in his shirt and took me to the ice rink to cool me down. That week he also let me drive his car round the garden. It makes me happy to know he is reunited with Granny.
