John was a true king gentleman, a very good neighbour he was and his dear wife Vera RIP never forgotten ,, RIP John. Always remembered by Annie Paul and sons ❤️🌹🙏🌹

In loving memory of John Barnes who sadly passed away on 12th July 2023.
John was born in Chatham to Sidney and Kathleen Barnes and spent his young years growing up in Borstal. He didn’t move far, just over the way to Rochester where he spent all of his married life with Vera. Although his home life remained local, he did love to travel and had many great holidays and trips over the years. John also enjoyed getting out and about, driving was never a problem and he was happy to go anywhere. He and Vera had a great group of friends whom they would regularly socialise with and there would always be a party at somebody’s house (quite often at their house).
John was a strong, determined and fiercely independent man. Despite recent poor health he still kept pushing on and for that we have so much admiration for him.
He was very kind and would never hesitate to help his family and friends. We will miss him terribly xx
