Peacefully, with loved ones at his side, on July 18th aged 74 years, Jim. The cherished husband of the late Carol, a dearly loved dad, granda, great-granda and dear friend of many. Forever in our hearts.

Family and friends please meet on Friday July 28th for a service in Holy Trinity Church, South Hetton at 10:45am, committal to follow in Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations in lieu kindly received for Mesothelioma UK. A donation box will be available in the church. Please join the family afterwards in The Robin Todd Centre for refreshments.

No amount of words can express how heartbroken I am that you are no longer with us, but I am glad you are at peace. I know you will be looking down on me and rolling your eyes at every questionable decision I make in life, but regardless, I hope I can make you proud of the man I have yet to be. You've set the bar very high, and you achieved a lot in your life, but you will continue to be an inspiration to me for all my days. My beautiful daughter, Jessica, will proudly wear the name "Shand", the youngest of the Shands, and I know you'll be watching over her too. Love you grandad, take it easy ❤️
