In loving memory of Samuel John 'Sam' Hawkins who sadly passed away on 26th June 2023

Sam was a true gentleman who I was lucky to have come into my life in 2010.
A kind, caring man who faced many challenges with determination and a will to achieve in all he did. He had a dry sense of humour and an extremely quick wit!!

Throughout his life Sam faced challenges due to his health but lovingly supported by his parents ,Val and John, Sam went to infant and junior school, passed his eleven plus and went to Grammar school and then went on to follow a career in Mental Health Nursing.

Sam was proud to be a Nurse and when we met he was working with a team supporting people in returning to independent living. A role he truly cherished

As we remember Sam, I'm sure the same things will come to mind for us all. A kind, gentle ,friendly man who always had the time to help others, time to chat and to give whatever was required of him whether at work or in his cherished home life.

In our years together,Sam became an instant Dad and Grandad, a role he loved. He became a United fan by marriage ,again a role he loved. He embraced life and dealt with challenges he faced with courage and determination.
I sometimes feel that we had so short a time together but it was a happy time and as with so many family and friends throughout his life, he has left an everlasting mark on our lives and so many memories to treasure.

Sam's funeral will be on Friday August 4th 2023 2pm at Gelding Crematorium, Catfoot Lane, Lambley, Nottinghamshire.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Sam, I feel I knew him through his wonderful wife, Tracey. She always spoke so fondly of him with so many memories to share. You are sadly missed and have left a huge hole in so many lives. Rest in Peace.
