In loving memory of Eric Latus who sadly passed away on 6th July 2023

Hayley Dyason wrote

Grandad, I've struggled so much to find the words to share. Mourning on my own from so far away has been incredibly difficult. You know I've never been good at this stuff.
Thank you for so many wonderful memories. Thank you for your wicked sense of humour and so many laughs. Thank you for the hour long lectures! Thank you for the songs. Thank you for accepting me as I am.
I always felt you were my number 1 fan. You never seemed surprised by any crazy thing I did.
Living with you and Nan is something I will always cherish and I'm so very glad I did so. You were my stand in dad at I time I was so far from home and really needed support.
You taught me how to truly appreciate a Malteser!
Rest in peace now Grandad. You lived a full life. I fully intend to take your example and do the same. I promise to take my kids to meet their Gran one day soon. I know you would love that.
Loving you always. Hayley.

Eric was such a big presence in the community. As a close neighbour for over 40 years his humour and advice can never be replaced. Our thoughts are with Eunice and his family.

You and I and Les Perry enjoyed working and travelling together mostly in the 60's and early 70's - the good old days! Many years have passed since Les and I left Kent, but pleased that we were all able to rekindle our friendship in recent years. You will always be remembered and sadly missed by both Les and Myself.
