Dad,
When people think of Dad, they smile,
Maybe it’s the kindness, that extra mile
He always took to make things right,
Better, special, not too tight.
Maybe the socks and sandals raise
The smiles and the memories as we gaze
Upon our friends and loved ones here
To celebrate our Dad, so dear.
His love of music; country, folk
His passion for space and telling bad jokes,
The pride in his grandchildren grew everyday
And continues to do so as they make their way
Through the ups and the downs, through the calm and the strife
Through this beautiful, wonderful thing that is life.
So let us all smile now as we reminisce
All of the good times and things that we’ll miss,
For we were all lucky to love such a man,
And us most of all because he was our Dad.
