Kenneth John Hinds (27 Dec 1927 - 24 May 2023)

This biography is in loving memory of Kenneth John Hinds who sadly passed away on the 24th May 2023.
Ken had a full life spanning 95 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather.
Born in Tamworth, Ken left school at 14 and followed his father into the local colliery and worked for many years as a "ripper" one of the highly skilled men who remove the rock above the coal seam and set rings (arches) to raise the height of the gate or road as the coal face advances.
On leaving the Pit Ken worked till his retirement as a Transport Manager.
Ken married the love of his life Joan on the 23rd July 1955. They had two wonderful daughters, Karen & Bev whom Ken and Joan thought the world of. Karen had two daughters and Ken simply adored his granddaughters Kate & Sophie. Ken was blessed and so uplifted with the news of the birth of his beautiful great granddaughter Isla.
Ken will be desperately missed by all his family and has left such a hole in all our lives that can never be filled.
