So sorry to hear the sad news and not being able to attend the funeral. We will loght a beeswax candle in memory.

I have many happy memories of working at Brogdale with Joan and Peter.
They were both so kind to me when I started at Brogdale.

So sorry to hear of the sad loss of Joan. We at Teynham Short Mat Bowls club miss seeing her on a Thursday afternoon. She enjoyed playing, and was a good player. From everyone at the Bowls Club.

To life-long friends

I remember Joan attending Medway Beekeepers meetings in the Summer. Although she wasn't a beekeeper she would, along with other non beekeeping 'other halves', accept the invitation to spend the afternoon in our garden before we were joined by the beekeepers after they had inspected the bees at the apiary on City Way in Rochester and then we would all enjoy tea together. One year she brought a kitten that she was hand rearing and sat in the shade of our apple tree bottle feeding it (as she was doing every three or four hours day and night.) Eventually a very full and contented kitten fell asleep on her lap. A lovely memory of a lovely lady.

I am Juley one of /Ruby's daughters. Mum worked with Joan back in the day and remained friends with her all these years. Mum has recently moved into a home so it is more difficult for her to reply herself.
I remeber Pumzel Helen and Peter
p Lane garden where me Hazel & Helen used to play whilst mum & Joan would sit on the blanket on the grass having cups of tea.
Mum from time would talk about Joan and Bourne and Hilliars where they worked as ledger clerks.
Fond memories of us all on bonfire night, especially when a rogue firework got into the garage landed in the biscuit tin with remaining fireowrks in and let them all off,
Sorry mum won't be attending the funeral, but I hope it goes ok.

Desperately sorry to hear this. I had no idea until the card came. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend the service, owing to mobility problems. Condolences to Peter,who was much admired for his miniatures, by my late husband and myself.

Aunt Joan was a beautiful person inside and out, with a gentle and kind spirit and a love of life.She was dearly loved and will be missed.
