I've known Dave since he was 11 when we used to chat on the CB radio. His handle was Snowboy and mine weatherman.
We stayed in contact later via FB and he often used to update me on the weather on the Blackdown hills.His love for trains was also obvious as he has been commenting on the train post I've put up recently.
He was always a quiet gentle lad and will be truly missed by so many. Xx

We always talked about you and the weather , he would always trust your forecasting :-) it’s funny my dad Rodrest use to talk to Dave on the CB radio way before I even knew Dave. He did indeed love his trains , it was a love we both shared ❤️. It’s a shame he missed the recent flying Scotsman visit as I know he would have found somewhere to see it with Henry x

My thoughts are with your family Dave, sounds strange aka (Mavis) to a lot that knew you in the 90’s sure you would of hated that now!
Few memories I can share with you family and friends
The time you put your finger in your bike chain and who would of guessed took of the top of your finger !
The times we went swimming and you would stick like glue to the edge of the pool trying to chase me to show of that skin on your shoulder still unsure what what was?
Racing around the playground pretending you were a motorbike or racing car.
Off roading in the 4x4 down the green lanes
Being an uncle rara to Matthew and buying him his first tractor and John deer overalls and many other tractor related items. You were a great support.
Many years gone on from then but far from enough
Gone far too soon but more then sure a heart of gold xx

Bless you ❤️ yes his finger was a sight to be seen and his shoulder , I never quite understood what it was. He had a few “war wounds” , his right hand was quite mangled and would often go various shades of blue. “ it’s fine “ he would say lol It’s so lovely reading these posts - Mavis was kept very low key in his older years , it was the only thing that would wind him up :-) . ❤️

Always time for a cup of tea,even if you are meant to be getting ready for your wedding! I still can’t quite believe it Dave. you were the kindest, sweetest man ,a wonderful husband and dad . You will be missed by so many . Taken far too soon x
