It’s lovely to read all the messages and memories of Colin. I have fond memories of him collecting Hannah and I from Air Cadets, he was always so kind. You’re all in my thoughts and I’m sorry I couldn’t be there yesterday. Love Emma x

I’m really sorry we can’t be there tomorrow with you all. When I look at the shared photos of Colin, or Uncle Colin as he was when we were younger, I can hear him laughing and animatedly telling us a story! Sending all our love xx

We have known Colin since the early 80’s, initially as our accountant, and later with Linda as good friends. He was a lovely man, with a welcoming smile, and great sense of humour and good style. He so enjoyed his painting, walking and bird watching. We will miss him

In memory of Colin our great friend for more than 50 years. We were each other’s ‘best men’.
A very clever and astute chartered accountant, he kept our business on the HMRC straight and narrow.
We have so many happy memories, he had an excellent sense of humour and a love of gadgets and new technologies.
We will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Colin for many years at BHP until he retired. We worked on many clients together, of various shapes and sizes. I always thought that I had covered everything when presenting him with a set of accounts, but he invariably spotted something which I hadn't, which showed how sharp his mind was, and how good he was at his job. I was so so sorry to hear of his untimely death. RIP

I had the pleasure of working with Colin as trainee at BHP and later to become one of his fellow partners before he retired. My memories of Colin are that he always had a pad of scrap paper next to him to scribble an explanation on and he had this nack of being able to make it simple. RIP Colin and thank you for the opportunity to continue to take BHP forward to what it is today.

I also had the great pleasure of working with Colin at BHP - I had my second interview with him almost 20 years ago.

He was such a calm, likeable and interesting person. He somehow had this knack of explaining complex financial matters in a simple and engaging way, meaning his colleagues and clients had the utmost respect for him.

I’ve been fortunate enough to keep in touch with Colin after he retired. I, along with all his former colleagues, will miss him greatly.

Colin was our accountant at BHP from our very beginnings back in about 1983/4. Along with Andrew Swann, they provided us with excellent care and diligence. I will never forget our meetings where from somewhere behind his desk he would produce a huge pile of folders and he knew exactly where to find absolutely everything. I never understood any of it and Colin was very understanding at knowing I hated it, but we all loved him!! A great sense of humour and he took much pride in his work and helping us to succeed and keep on the right side of HMRC!!. I actually think he enjoyed seeing myself, Eve and Andrew too, my very first business Partners.

Colin was a really great mentor and was always there to help and give excellent advice.
