I was saddened to hear of Margaret's passing at such a young age.
I was Margaret's grade one teacher at Tempo, and remember her as such a joyful, happy and caring little girl. From the comments I have read here I see that she did not change but, only spread her magic to a wider audience. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time.

Marga was such a beautiful person, in and out. A brilliant mind and a person who cared deeply for others. She knew how to develop strong lasting friendships and also be silly and have fun. She will be greatly missed. We need more people like Marga in this world.

Marga and I attended Sunday School together for a while and were in the same class at Tempo School in Edmonton from grade 4 until 12. We went on to take a few classics courses together in University. I cannot imagine a better person to learn with and to learn from. Marga was a kind, honest, thoroughly down-to-earth friend. She was also a person who *felt* deeply. I will always cherish the time we spent together, heatedly debating topics in religion, history, and literature and exchanging writing, ideas and books. I remember fondly her warm, welcoming house near the University of Alberta, where even as teenagers we would play with the dollhouse her father built for her and with her world-class playmobil collection. Marga instilled in all us the thrill of learning. Memories of her--her eyes flashing with joy, with anger, with excitement, with purpose, her voice filling a room, her legs propelling a bicycle faster than I thought it could go--will always bring me joy.

So very sad to hear this terrible, shocking news. Joel and Marga: such a perfect match. It was my privilege to have been a part of your early story as a couple - that you met at my birthday party! Marga became your soulmate and what a treasure she was. Thinking of you, Clara and Douglas and your wider family.

I had the privilege of attending primary and middle school with Margaret. We met in Grade 1. I’ll forever remember her as a brilliant and fun-loving student with a gleam in her eye and a love of history and literature. Miss you, my friend.

Please note, it appears that the RSVP function on this website is unreliable - a form has been added on the church website, which also gives more detailed information on the funeral and reception.
