In loving memory of George Plant who sadly passed away on 9th October 2015.
Everyone is welcome to attend the funeral, and afterwards from 12 noon, tributes and memories will be shared over a buffet at the White Hart, Chesterfield Road, Tibshelf DE55 5NF.
George asked that instead of sending flowers for the funeral, he would prefer if people bought themselves flowers and put them in a vase at home as a reminder of him. He also asked that people would not wear black, unless they felt more comfortable doing so.
There will be a collection for George's favourite charity - 'When You Wish Upon a Star' at the White Hart for anyone who would like to contribute towards granting the Wishes of children living with life threatening illnesses.

Memories from Maggie & Tony (Australia) - Ex neighbours at Babbington.

We were so sorry to hear the sad news about George - from all of us, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.
We spent a happy time last night reminiscing about Babbington and the fun we had with you and George – the egg throwing competition was the most remembered event!

Memories he would have loved

Daniel Housley

Daniel Housley I wouldn't change my childhood at Babbington for the whole world. We had a great time growing up. Remember the tree houses above the sheds, remember the home-made beds on bricks in the attic with crocheted blankets, remember the Enid Blyton and Dandy bedtime reading, remember the Christmas treasure hunts, remember the peddle-yourself sewing machine, remember pole-vaulting the brook in the wood. Anita Elizabeth Smith And yes Daniel my childhood at babbinton 25 or so years earlier had exactly the same memories.... Plus riding on the wall pretending it was horses, getting the damsons from the floor below the tree house to make damson jam, standing on the wall watching the AI man come to the cows and many more xx

Always there to help and advise is what we'll remember you for you lovely man, especially the time when we had recently moved into next door at No.33. You just happened to mention "Just thought I'd better let you know that we can see you when you're in the bathroom!!" Since then we've always taken heed of his kind words and closed the blinds! We will miss you so George for other things like putting our bins in and out whether we wanted it or not haha, checking us in and out as we leave the house , always ready to wave back to us. What a grand chap. Thank you for the occasional chats over the last 10yrs George. Heaven will be a happier place now you're there but we shall miss you terribly. Bless you.x

Message from Paul

My memories of George.
Dear George, he was a kind, loving and caring person who would do anything to help,if it was
to pass spammers, make cups of tea or help around the yard,he was your man.
He treated everyone equal and me like a son and for this I will be eternally grateful.
Rest in peace. Love Paul xx
