Lilian Mabel Slattery (30 Oct 1933 - 20 Jan 2023)

In loving memory of Lilian Mabel Slattery who sadly passed away on 20th January 2023.

Lilian was born and bred in Coventry in October 1933, and lived in the city all her life. One of 7 children, Lilian spent her childhood years in the run up to, and during the war. She experienced the horrors of the Blitz on Coventry, and the material deprivations that came with it.

In July 1954 she married her beloved late husband Patrick. Together they raised 5 children, Janice, Heather, Darren, Nicola and Lisa.

Lilian loved spending time with family and friends, and was never happier than when socialising with family and friends, or going out for a tea or coffee or perhaps something a little stronger on occasion!

Sadly, Lilian lost Patrick on New Year's Day in 1998. But her indomitable spirit and strength of character helped her to live for another 25 years after Patrick's passing, despite numerous challenges, none more tragic than the loss to cancer of her eldest child, Janice, in December 2016.

Lilian's surviving children, Heather, Darren, Nicola and Lisa and their families are united in mourning the loss of a special Mum and Nan, but also in celebrating the life of a special and unique person, never to be replaced. Rest in Peace, Dear Mum xxx
