John and I were good friends for over 26 years. During that time we spent many happy years together. Not just with me, but with my family too. He kept me, Natalie and Anthony amused, with his many funny tales of his time doing National Service and also during his time working at The Gravesend Reporter. We still laugh when remembering them now! John had a great sense of humour. He was a very special, and talented man, who could turn his hand to most jobs...and always with utter perfection. Up until 5 months ago he enjoyed going to see Natalie to reminisce and to catch up with their latest news.

So Dearest J Rest in Peace. The special times, we shared, will remain with me always. Goodnight L. X
