What can I say about Peter Jepheart? I owe him so much. I have only ever worked at Guideline. I remember being marched to the job centre at 16 by my mum and seeing the advert for Guideline Lift Services.

I will always remember my very first encounter with Peter. It was when I made my way up to London with friends to see where I would be having the interview. Peter offered to do the interview there and then but I refused, the people who know me would not be surprised that the reason I refused was because I wasn’t dressed appropriately.

I attended my interview & Peter showed me how to use a wiring diagram. Then without any qualifications or experience, Peter offered me a job and later informed my mum that he liked my “enthusiasm”.

I have forever admired and respected Peter, not only because he is one of the smartest men I have ever had the honour to meet but because he was also a great employer and also one of the nicest people I have and probably will ever meet.

I will miss him so much, even in retirement he was such a presence in the office and out on the tools.
I’ll miss him coming up to the office just to annoy the boys (only sometimes) and conversations regarding sport, never lifts, always sport.

26 years later I am still at Guideline, this has been my family and I’m so proud of it.

Thank you Peter.

My thoughts go out to all the family.

Rest in Peace. We will all miss you.

I have many fond memories of PJ, as he & my dad were close friends for many years. One of the abiding memories I have is from when we would take their dogs for a walk in the woods...when we opened the back of Peter's jeep it was like a scene from 101 Dalmatians. My thoughts are with Liz, Tim, Simon & Louise. X
