In loving memory of Avril Madge Shelton who sadly passed away on the 26th of December 2022, aged 88 years.

Avril died peacefully on Boxing Day at Haslington Lodge Care Home. Our thanks to all staff at the home for their care and support.

Avril was born and raised in Southfleet and her many friends and family knew her for her love of her family, nature and the countryside, birds and animals, and good food. Avril was an excellent home cook as anyone who has tasted one of her sausage rolls can attest!

Avril had a life long association with, and love of, St Nicholas Church Southfleet, which is where her funeral service will take place on Tuesday 10th January 2023. Avril was involved in many areas of the church community throughout her life, from Sunday School as a child to singing in the choir and playing an important role in the catering committee. Avril was baptised and confirmed in the church and married Peter there in 1953. Both her children, Joanne and Jeremy, were also baptised there.

Avril's family welcomes you to attend all parts of her funeral:
1.30pm at St Nicholas Church, Southfleet
3pm at Thamesview Crematorium

You are then invited to join us at The Ship, Southfleet afterwards to share memories and a toast to Avril.

Family flowers only. If anyone is wishing to donate to the Ellenor in Avril's memory, please do so via the link on this page using the "Donate Now" button. Alternatively, cash or cheques may be sent, payable to The Ellenor c/o Lewis Solomon Funeral Service or given to the funeral directors on the day.

We hope to see you on 10th January.
The Shelton Family xx
